About the Opportunity We’re looking for a Senior Payroll Specialist to own US payroll operations while helping us build a world-class global payroll function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on operational excellence, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.

While the initial focus will be US payroll, this position offers the opportunity to expand into global payroll ownership - driving consistency, automation, and best practices across multiple countries. You’ll partner closely with People Operations, Total Rewards, Finance, Systems, Legal, and external payroll providers to ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable payroll operation How You’ll Make an Impact 1. Own US Payroll Operations Own end-to-end multi-state US payroll processing across multiple entities, pay groups, and payroll vendors.

Ensure payroll is processed accurately, compliantly, and on time. Maintain strong payroll controls through regular audits, reconciliations, and validation processes. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax withholding, new state registrations, quarterly and annual filings (Forms 941, 940, W-2/W-2c), amendments, and resolution of agency notices.

2. Support Global Payroll Operations & Drive continuous improvement Support the evolution of Salsify’s global payroll operating model, including implementation and ongoing optimization of Deel and future global payroll solutions. Develop, maintain, and continuously improve global payroll documentation, SOPs, and operational playbooks.

Requirements

Identify and lead automation opportunities that reduce manual work and enhance the employee experience, leveraging AI tools where relevant. Partner with Systems on Workday enhancements and payroll integrations. Support payroll implementations, testing, and system enhancements as the function scales.

3. Support the PX Operations Team Payroll is the primary responsibility of this role. However, as part of the PX Operations team, you’ll also contribute to broader operational initiatives and provide support when business needs require it, including: Workday employee data management.

Employee lifecycle queries and offboarding processes. Operational documentation and knowledge management.
