The role: The Security Master serves the research and collaborating with some of the front office and execution teams within WorldQuant. The Security Master specialist will need to provide the following services to those groups: Maintain an accurate and up to date Security Master for global equity, futures, options and other asset classes.
Liaise with our Treasury Services team to track and understand issues that may be caused by those exceptions and provide resolutions. Work with our partner to manage day to day exceptions, overseeing and organizing a team of consultants in their tasks to this end. The Security Master specialist will also oversee the team of consultants for the following: Research and track upcoming exchange notices and corporate actions that impact the researchers.
Provide commentary to multiple teams on the same. Seek accurate information from brokers, data vendors, issuers, exchanges and other sources to ensure corporate actions are accurately represented. Liaise with brokers on these topics where necessary.
Ensure corporate actions are applied consistently across all asset classes – providing information to any team that may require further information, and alerting teams where information is delayed, inaccurate, inconsistent or may in any way affect some of the front office and execution teams. Verify accurate valuation data is available for all asset classes, finding and resolving breaks with relevant parties. To support the service, they will also assist in on boarding and testing any new features of the security master; build, maintain and oversee new operations procedures that arise from any new features.
Liaise with our partner on the same. Mandatory Skills: Experience managing data within a firm wide Security Master Experience in Corporate Actions Well-versed with data-validation, exceptions and anomalies/pricing differences driven by collaborating with some of the front office and execution teams Understanding of financial instruments Managing operational processes and deadlines Desirable Skills: Experience with SQL (Joins across multiple tables, common table expressions, temporary tables, aggregate functions, case statements, ad-hoc loading of files into the database).
Responsibilities
: Daily analysis and filtration of reports Daily running of tests and reporting bugs in select cases, e.g., comparing Security Master's data with vendor data Responding to and following up on raised tickets, as well as researching internal tickets for data issues – managing life cycle to resolution Constant analysis of regular tickets related to corporate actions Driving continuous process improvement Ad Hoc tasks – researching and testing for new features of security master applications, as well as onboarding and testing corporate actions for new share classes
