Position Summary We are looking for a technically strong and operationally sharp Revenue Accounting Lead to be the engine behind our ASC 606 compliance, month-end close, revenue projects and controls framework. This role sits at the intersection of technical accounting and operational excellence.
You bring experience across both private and public company environments and are comfortable owning processes end-to-end while partnering cross-functionally with DealOps, Business System, FP&A, Legal, and Product.
About The Role
Revenue Close & Technical Accounting Own and execute the monthly revenue close process, including contracts review, SSP analysis, contract modifications, multi-element arrangement accounting, and revenue disclosure under ASC 606. Prepare and review revenue journal entries, reconciliations, and flux analyses with clear audit trails. Partner with DealOps on contract review to assess revenue recognition implications prior to execution.
Controls, Compliance & Audit Readiness Maintain and enforce a strong internal controls environment over revenue — document SOX-ready policies, procedures, and control narratives. Lead coordination with external auditors for quarterly reviews and year-end audits; own PBC schedules and audit support for all revenue-related requests. Monitor and interpret new accounting guidance (FASB, SEC) and assess impact on revenue policies.
Process Optimization & Systems Identify and drive improvements to the revenue close process and routine tasks — reduce cycle time, eliminate manual work, and build scalable workflows. Own revenue system integrity; work with Business System to ensure contracts and revenue data flows accurately into the GL (NetSuite or equivalent). Build and maintain automated revenue schedules, reporting templates, and exception monitoring tools (Excel / Gsheets), ideally utilizing AI tools (Claude).
Cross-functional Partnership & Reporting Prepare accurate, executive-ready revenue reporting packages and variance analyses for finance management. Act as a trusted business partner to DealOps, Business System, FP&A, Legal, and Product. Mentor and develop junior team members; set clear standards for work quality and documentation About you Required Experience & Skills 4-6+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, with demonstrated ownership of ASC 606 in a SaaS or software environment.
