Overview The Raw Materials Planning Manager is a highly analytical and strategic role that manages the end-to-end lifecycle of fabric and raw material procurement. This role is responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material flow, from mill to production, by balancing demand forecasting, inventory management, and supplier partnerships.
Responsibilities
Source and procure fabrics and raw materials aligned with product and production needs. Manage relationships with domestic and offshore mills, ensuring quality, reliability, and scalability. Negotiate pricing, capacity, lead times, and MOQs to support margin and production goals.
Partner with product development and technical teams on fabric approvals and performance standards. Develop and manage raw material forecasts based on demand plans, sales trends, and production schedules. Own fabric capacity planning with mills to support both replenishment and new production needs and minimize stockouts.
Monitor inventory levels, aging stock, and excess/obsolete materials. Align material planning with production schedules and capacity constraints. Issue and track purchase orders, ensuring on-time delivery of materials.
Partner closely with production, planning, and logistics teams to align material flow with factory schedules. , jersey, fleece, rib). Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (delays, shortages, quality issues).
Analyze fabric consumption, usage trends, and cost drivers. Track KPIs such as on-time delivery, inventory turns, and material cost variance. Provide recommendations to optimize sourcing strategies and inventory efficiency.
Maintain accurate data in ERP/PLM systems for materials, orders, and inventory. Perform other duties as assigned. Comply with all policies and standards.
