Country Head of Credit Risk Credit Risk Ebury Paris Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week This is a key senior role within the Credit Risk function and member of the local leadership team requiring an ambitious individual with the experience and ability to: Manage and optimise existing portfolio in France Improve underwriting and credit risk management process for France The successful candidate will be responsible for all stages of the credit lifecycle from origination through to collection and recovery including liaising with lawyers in the event of litigation, along with supporting the local leadership team in maximising existing and identifying new opportunities to deliver increased shareholder value.
What You’Ll Do
Report to and support the Senior Global Credit Risk Management Team; Monitor and report your portfolio performance (lines granted, current exposure, overdue cases, pipeline, opportunities and risk identified etc); Liaise with local regulatory authorities if necessary; Perform and oversight detailed credit analysis of prospects and clients for the purpose of granting Lending/Business Finance Solutions and Foreign Exchange exposure limits with a focus on entity financials, trading cycles and operations; Approve exposure limits to individual clients within a matrix of delegated authority; Present and defend your analysis personally at Credit Committee meetings to senior management, including C-Suite; Engage closely with other teams, specially Front Office and Onboarding/Compliance, to ensure a smooth client experience and that decisions made within the Credit Risk team are relayed clearly; Manage an existing portfolio of clients, monitoring their credit standing and risk versus reward for Ebury; Assist with the collections process for overdue payments and communicate decisions with relevant parties; Proactively manage your own pipeline of work, along with taking responsibility to ensure the wider team’s SLAs are met; Liaising with analysts and managers across other regions, sharing best practices and adding local insights where necessary; Proactively seek to improve existing and implement new underwriting practices to enable improved efficiency and expansion into new jurisdictions. What you’ll need Minimum 7+ years credit underwriting experience, preferably in the SME space in France; A strong understanding of local accounting principles; Exposure to collections and litigations processes locally to aid management of distressed clients; A clear, structured, and concise communication style with the ability to explain complex concepts in a coherent way; Experience of dealing directly with clients, one on one, and resolving issues; An understanding of local lending and basic Foreign Exchange products and services; Experience of building, leading and training effective Credit Risk Management teams and frameworks along with day to day management and monitoring.
