We are looking for a Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join our growing team in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced private client tax professional to take ownership of a diverse portfolio, delivering high-quality personal tax compliance alongside a range of advisory projects. You will play a key role in building trusted client relationships, identifying advisory opportunities, and collaborating with colleagues across the wider firm to deliver an exceptional client experience.
As an Assistant Manager, you will also provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to the team, helping to develop junior colleagues while contributing to larger and more complex advisory assignments. This role offers the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills and make a real impact within a supportive and collaborative environment. Manage a varied portfolio of private clients, acting as their primary point of contact.
Deliver personal tax compliance and contribute to advisory work Ensure all client work is completed in line with agreed budgets and internal standards such as The KR Way and Life of a Tax Return. Develop and maintain up-to-date technical knowledge through training, research, monitoring changes in legislation and HMRC policy. Liaise with internal teams on client matters and build your internal profile among partners and directors across service lines.
Attend client meetings and play a key role in relationship and workflow management. Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and manage client billing effectively. General advisory opportunities within your portfolio by building your relationships with clients.
This may be in private client tax or more broadly across the firm’s service offering. Support one-off compliance and advisory assignments as needed. Supervise junior members of the team involved in the delivery of private client tax work.
CTA and/or ATT qualified, or qualified by experience. Strong private client tax compliance knowledge with advisory experience. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong client relationships.
Proactive, organised and detail-oriented, with good commercial awareness. Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members. Experience in or an interest in the agricultural sector is desirable.
