Responsibilities
Overview The Maintenance Technician is essential to keeping the community safe, functional, and comfortable for residents. This role is responsible for completing day-to-day maintenance requests, supporting preventive maintenance, and ensuring apartments and common areas meet quality and safety standards. You’ll work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor and on-site team to respond to service requests, prepare units for move-in, and address issues before they escalate.
Success in this role means faster response times, fewer repeat issues, safer buildings, and residents who trust that concerns will be handled promptly and professionally. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in hands-on work, values safety and consistency, and enjoys being a reliable presence in the community.
Qualifications
Hands-on experience performing general maintenance or repairs Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently when needed Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Professional, respectful communication with residents and team members Reliable attendance and willingness to support on-call coverage Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent required Prior experience as a maintenance technician or in a skilled trade preferred Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair HVAC, EPA Universal Certification, or other trade certifications are a plus Ability to learn property systems and maintenance tracking tools Work Environment & Physical Requirement: On-site residential and building environments Regular walking, climbing stairs, bending, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Ability to use hand tools, p
