Fuss & O'Neill's Manufacturing Solutions team is seeking a hands-on Industrial Services Specialist to help manufacturers throughout New England create safer, more efficient production environments. In this role, you'll support the full lifecycle of machine safety projects—from conducting machine risk assessments and developing practical risk mitigation strategies to designing, installing, and integrating custom machine guarding solutions with industrial control systems. You'll also play a key role in developing and implementing equipment-specific Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, Electrical Safe Works Practices, supporting regulatory compliance, and helping clients build safer, more reliable manufacturing operations.
Working with a diverse range of manufacturing clients, you'll combine both hands-on and field experience to solve complex machinery safety challenges. Whether evaluating existing equipment, assisting with the design of innovative safeguarding solutions, commissioning safety systems, or collaborating directly with client teams, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on employee safety, operational performance, and regulatory compliance. This position is ideal for a technically driven professional who enjoys balancing design, hands-on implementation, problem-solving, and client partnership while helping shape safer workplaces across the manufacturing industry.
Requirements
Automation & Safety Controls Integrate machine safety devices including:Light curtains Safety interlocks Emergency stop systems Pressure-sensitive mats Other safeguarding technologies Configure and troubleshoot safety relays and safety PLCs Interface guarding systems with existing machine controls and automation systems Commission and validate integrated safety systems to verify proper operation Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) & Safety Programs Develop and maintain equipment-specific Lockout/Tagout procedures Conduct OSHA 1910.147 energy control audits Provide technical training on machine guarding and LOTO best practices Support additional manufacturing safety initiatives including equipment inspections, compliance audits, and continuous safety improvements Electrical Safe Work Practices Collect electrical infrastructure information Coordinate electrical system analysis Perform or provide electrical safety training for qualified employees Associate degree or higher in a related technical discipline required Demonstrated hands-on experience with machine guarding, machinery safety, industrial automation, manufacturing engineering, or a related field strongly preferred Familiarity of OSHA General Indust
