The General Counsel across all of Wolfe, LLC entities serves as the chief legal advisor and provides executive leadership across the company. This role oversees corporate legal matters, commercial activity, governance, employment related advisory work, and risk management. The General Counsel partners closely with senior leadership, directs outside counsel, and ensures that company policies and operations align with applicable laws and regulations while balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution.
This is a five-day onsite role in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Founder Leadership mentality. Build, lead, and develop the legal function, including direct reports, outside counsel, legal operations, playbooks, and scalable processes.
Support the CEO and affiliated entities on a range of business, real estate, investment, and founder-led initiatives, ensuring appropriate legal structure, risk management, and use of outside counsel where needed. Provide strategic legal guidance to the CEO and executive leadership across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and organizational matters. Lead the Legal function, overseeing policies, governance, contract review, and risk mitigation efforts.
Oversee all legal advisory work including contracts, employment related matters, corporate governance, and complex transactions while managing outside counsel. Support key corporate initiatives including commercial partnerships, financial institution relationships, contract systems, and corporate records governance. Identify and assess legal, regulatory, and operational risks, recommending practical and businessaligned strategies to address them.
Partner with senior leaders on organizational planning, operational processes, and strategic decision-making. Maintain and update Terms of Service, Privacy Policies at least annually, or more regularly as business needs demand Manage outside counsel efficiently, including budget, scope, quality, and business alignment. Advise on corporate structure, entity management, board/company governance, and affiliated venture matters.
Impact Statement For more clarity on the role, below are the success metrics and measurements for this role in the first 90 to 120 days: Meets agreed contract review timelines 100 percent of the time after establishing service levels with internal stakeholders. Ensures executed agreements are accurately entered into the company’s contract management system, with 100 percent of contracts recorded within five business days to support effective tracking of renewals and key dates. Establish system to send negotiation reminders to business contract owners 90-120 days ahead of time.
Utilize AI for at least 85% of the time for all contract drafting, research, analysis, and negotiation. Lead legal readiness for potential investment, financing, acquisition, or public-company preparedness efforts, including corporate records, governance documentation, material contracts, compliance materials, and outside counsel coordination. Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Experience supporting founder-led, entrepreneurial, or high-growth companies. Strong executive presence and ability to give clear, practical advice under time pressure. Comfort operating both strategically and hands-on.
Active member in good standing at least one US state bar, with the ability to obtain Pennsylvania admission if required. Significant in-house experience serving as General Counsel, Deputy/Assistant General Counsel, or a comparable senior legal leader. Broad experience across corporate, commercial, regulatory, and employment related legal matters.
Strong business judgment and the ability to provide practical, solutions oriented legal advice in a fastmoving environment. Skilled in contract negotiation and drafting. Proven ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leadership and cross functional teams.
Experience in industries such as gift card, payments, fintech, or financial services is a plus.
